We commit to using these practices for our business and our communities. Join us in embracing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, everywhere and always!
Our DEI Program for the Entrepreneur
We are Certified Entrepreneurial Mindset Facilitators, having received this distinctive honor from The Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative. We have aligned ourselves with NC IDEA’s mission to promote entrepreneurial thinking while working alongside statewide education partners, small business owners, nonprofits, and governmental organizations as our partnered ambition is to reach 100,000 North Carolinians by 2025.
The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program
The Entrepreneurial Mindset is a specific set of beliefs, knowledge and thought processes that drives entrepreneurial behavior. When one is able to think with this type of mindset, it is empowering because the results are that of being self-directed, action-oriented and being highly engaged in one’s endeavors, whether that be in an educational environment, a business or organizational setting or in a governmental arena. Such a mindset leads to one becoming highly resilient, resourceful, and solution-oriented in the face of obstacles to follow through with simple solutions that lead to opportunity.
Inspired by the life story of Pulitzer nominee Clifton Taulbert and the influence of his Uncle Cleve, Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur is the companion text to the Ice House Entrepreneurship Programs—experiential, problem-based learning programs designed to inspire and engage participants with the determination and perseverance of an entrepreneurial mindset. Ice House participants learn from a diverse array of real world, “unlikely” entrepreneurs who have embraced an entrepreneurial mindset.
